The Kaskaskia Collee Board of Trustees has authorized the college administration to enter into an agreement that ensures mental health counseling services are available for students or college staff who require these services. The board approved a two-year contract with Timely Telehealth, LLC of Fort Worth, Texas, to provide counseling services virtually. Trustees also approved an agreement with Family Life Consultants of Collinsville, Illinois, to provide services onsite.
Vice President of Student Services Amy Zanton noted that mental health services had become a priority focus for higher education institutions nationwide. These agreements ensure services are available to those who might need them.
Trustees approved a base salary adjustment of four percent for non-collective bargaining unit employees of Kaskaskia College. The board also reappointed first-year probationary faculty members Kevin McCarty and Josie Spihlmann to second-year status and second-year probationary faculty members Lesley Brower, Tim Wight, Kaylee Hilmes, and Amy Woltering to third-year status.
