Edward Lynn Petersen, 71, of Bluford, Illinois, passed away peacefully at 4:07 pm on May 11, 2023, in Waltonville, Illinois.
He was born August 14, 1951, in Mount Vernon, Illinois to the late William “Bill” and Ruby (Stone) Petersen. Ed married Carolyn (Overturf) Petersen on June 21, 1972, in Opdyke, Illinois. They were blessed with nearly 49 years of marriage before her passing on February 7, 2021. Ed is survived by his daughter, Mychelle Minor and husband, Kyle of Mount Vernon; son, Brandyn Petersen of Bluford; grandchildren, Gage Minor and wife, Diana of Mount Vernon, Isaac Minor and wife, Kara of Indiana, Kadi Petersen, Emmali Petersen, Alyson Petersen, and William Petersen, all of Mount Vernon; great-grandchildren, Kayleb Minor and Jaycen Minor, both of Mount Vernon and Canaan Minor and Matthias Minor, both of Indiana; sister, Emma Petersen of Waltonville, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
Ed worked in plumbing wholesale most of his life, but his passion was farming. He was also an avid gardener and hunter. Ed was a faithful member of the Central Christian Church in Mount Vernon. His greatest joy was the time he shared with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ed will be deeply missed by all who knew and adored him.
