Clarence Bumgarner, age 88 of Salem, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2023, at Odin Health Care Center.

Clarence was born on October 10, 1934, in Iuka, the son of Everette and Lenora May (Wolley) Bumgarner. He married Elfriede in 1960 and they later divorced.

He is survived by two sisters, Utha “Sis” Henson of TN, and Helen Easley of TN; two sisters-in-law, Sarah Bumgarner of Salem and Julie Bumgarner of Salem; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Walter Bumgarner, Henry Bumgarner, Dorothy Venters, George Bumgarner, Raymond Bumgarner, Paul Bumgarner, and Florence Morris.

Clarence was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church, being baptized there in 1944. He served in the United States Army for 24 years, starting out as a Civil Engineer, he then went on to be an aircraft mechanic, and later a warehouse supply manager. He worked for Pinnacle Foods in Tacoma, Washington until his retirement. He was an Elk and a Teamster.

Funeral Services for Clarence Bumgarner will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem with Pastor Mike Feldman officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will be in Iuka Cemetery with Military Rites by the Salem American Legion.
