A few more churches are being sought to participate in the Marion County Bicentennial celebration’s next event….the Beans and Cornbread Cook-Off.
The Beans and Cornbread event is patterned off church events in the early years of the county. It will be held on Saturday, March 11th, at five pm at the Grace United Methodist Church at 116 East Schwartz in Salem.
The cost to join the sampling is 200 nickels, or $10. Proceeds will be shared between participating churches for their youth groups or other activities.
