Lucille Dodson, 89, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, formerly of Kinmundy passed away on February 11, 2023, at White Oaks Rehabilitation Center in Mt. Vernon.Born September 1, 1933, in Alma, IL she was the daughter of Everett F. and Lilly Dorothy (Fradenburg) Alderson.Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Wednesday, February 15, 2023, in the chapel of Sutherland – Rankin Funeral Home in Salem with Josh Conley, officiating. Burial will follow at the Paradise Cemetery in Salem. Visiting hours will be from 11:00 am until the service time at the funeral home. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Methodist Church in Kinmundy.Lucille was married to John E. Dodson, Jr. on August 25, 1951 in Salem. He preceded in death on October 17, 2003.Survivors include her children, John E. Dodson, III and wife Mindy of Wayne City, IL, and Cecelia Sloat and husband Matthew of Centralia, IL, along with grandchildren Anna Sloat, Heather McKinzie, and Jessica Dodson. Also her great-grandchildren Morgan Lemons, Arianna McKinzie, Danielle McKinzie, Ashley Dodson, Dallas Dodson, Tysen Dodson, and Jacksen Dodson.In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson Jasen Dodson.
