Imogene M. Silger, age 95 of rural Centralia, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at Carlyle Health Care Center.
Imogene was born April 11, 1927, in Richview, the daughter of Frank E. Huck and Anna (Krietemeyer) Huck.
She married Paul J. Silger on April 24, 1948, in Norris City, IL and he preceded her in death on December 29, 2018, after 70 years of marriage.
Imogene is survived by two sons: Rod Silger and wife Phyllis of Hoyleton, and Michael Silger and wife Sandy of Wentzville, MO; four grandchildren: Seth Silger and wife Shana of Goreville, IL, Rachel Schmidt and husband Dan of O’Fallon, IL, Michael Silger Jr. and friend Samantha of Vancouver, WA and Caitlin Stone and husband Maxwell of Milwaukee, WI; three great-grandchildren: Hanna Schmidt, Sophie Silger, and Spencer Silger; one sister: Janet Huck of Hoyleton.
Imogene was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Paul.
Imogene was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Hoyleton. She was most proud of her family for receiving the title Washington County Conservation Farm Family of The Year in 2003, as well as the recognition as an Illinois Centennial Farm in 1980. Imogene and Paul farmed in Hoyleton and Centralia all their lives.Funeral Services for Imogene M. Silger will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at the Hillcrest Lakeside Chapel/Mausoleum at 2500 Old Highway 51, Centralia with Rev. Nathan Wollenberg officiating. Entombment will follow at the Hillcrest Lakeside Mausoleum in Centralia. A visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Hillcrest Lakeside Chapel on Tuesday afternoon.
