Maurice “Mo” H. Beckman, age 83 of Salem, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at Twin Willows Nursing Center in Salem.
Mo was born on January 2, 1940, in Mt. Vernon, the son of Ervie and Vona (Rhynes) Beckman. He married Janet E. (Condo) Beckman on May 14, 1961, in Washington, IL and she survives in Salem.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Janel Moore and husband Mike of Ashmore and Dawn Collier and husband Kevin of Iuka; six grandchildren, Kyle Collier and wife Jessie, Kaleb Collier and wife Kayla, Sarah Potter and husband John, Jonah Moore, Shekinah Moore, and Karah Moore; three great-grandchildren, Kenzie Collier, Kade Collier and James Potter; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Louise Vaughn, Betty Vaughn, William “Bill” Beckman, Stanley “Stan” Beckman, Doris Kay Ford, and Beverly Jo Rauthenberg.
Mo owned and operated Beckman Service Center where he worked as a mechanic and tow truck driver. He served in the United States Air Force and was an avid Nascar fan
There will be a time to visit with the family from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Monday, January 23, 2023, at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem. The family requests those in attendance to dress casually.
