Julia “Judy” Rogers, 89, of Centralia, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2023, at Centralia Manor.
She was born September 11, 1933, in Centralia, the daughter of Leo Lordan and Dorothy (Francois) Lordan. She married William Rogers, Jr. on June 19, 1953, and he preceded her in death on June 22, 2015.
Judy is survived by: one daughter; Cynthia Bierman and husband Brad of Kell; one son-in-law: Ken Barnhart of Lenexa, Kansas; one sister: Mary Carlyle of Mt. Vernon, brother-in-law: Gene Watson of Summerville, South Carolina; sister-in-law: Mary of Palos Hills, Illinois; Four grandchildren: Troy Bierman, Angela Hull, Lori Heinze, and Ryan Barnhart; six great-grandchildren: Addison and Landon Hull, Kadence and Kennady Heinze, Patrick Barnhart, and Felix Barnhart; several nieces and nephews with a local niece and nephew: Sarah Martin and Greg of Mt. Vernon and Craig Rogers family and Janet Gaston; and special friend and neighbor: Elaine Jackson of Centralia.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents: Leo and Dorothy Lordan, husband: William Rogers, Jr., her daughter: Deborah Barnhart, two brothers: Mickey Lordan and Pete Lordan, sister: Pat (Haney) Watson, and two brothers-in-law: H.C. Haney and Bill Carlyle.
Judy was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Centralia, where she also served in the Catholic Daughters of America. She was also a member of the Centralia V.F.W. Auxiliary.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Centralia with Father Steven Pautler officiating. A Private Family Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Centralia. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Mary’s Catholic Church and will be accepted at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home at 235 North Sycamore Street Centralia, Illinois 6280, (618)532-3523, who is honored to be of service to the Rogers Family.
