Mary Louise Hester, 90, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at White Oak Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Mount Vernon on January 10, 2023, at 12:45 am.
She was born September 27, 1932, in Mount Vernon, to the late Paul Leslie Partridge and Madelyn Louise Deck. Mary Lou married Paul Wesley Hester on December 27, 1952, in Mount Vernon. Mary Lou is survived by her children; Karen Gaede of Mount Vernon, John Hester of Mount Vernon, and David Hester and wife, Laurie of Avon, Connecticut, grandchildren; Melanie Donoho and husband, Chris of Mount Vernon, Michelle Hoffman and husband, Eric of Mount Vernon, Megan Teuber and husband, Matthew of Mount Vernon, and Lucas Hester of Avon, Connecticut, great-grandchildren; Brendon Donoho, Bailey Donoho, Savannah Teuber, Meadow Teuber, Jacob Teuber, Wesley Hoffman, and Colton Hoffman.
In addition to her parents and husband of 70 years, Mary was preceded in death by her sister, Phyllis Ellis, and one niece, Arden Little. Mary Lou was of Christian faith and loved her family, the St. Louis Cardinals, and the Great Smoky Mountains.
A Visitation will be held Saturday, January 21, 2023, from Noon to 1:00 pm at Newell Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. A Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 pm with Mr. James McKinzie officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois. Memorials may be made in Mary Lou’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
