2023 01/13 – Jeffrey ‘Jeff’ Scott Lambert

Jeffrey “Jeff” Scott Lambert, 63, of Centralia, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2023, at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Jeff passed away on his father’s birthday.

Jeffrey was born October 19, 1959, in Centralia, the son of Kenneth Lambert and Alvera (Roethemeyer) Lambert.

He is survived by his three siblings: Marsha Lambert Cook of Centralia, Audrey Lambert Durall and fiance Gary Laffoon of Odin, and Mark Lambert of Belleville; brothers-in-law: William Harris of Centralia and Norman Smith of Centralia; sister-in-law: Georgia Lambert of Centralia; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Kenneth and Alvera Lambert, four sisters: Brenda Atchison, Crystal Harris, Carolyn Sue Martin, and Kathy Smith, grandparents: Herb & Fern Lambert and August & Ella Roethemeyer, and brother-in-law: Gary Martin.

Jeffrey was a Centralia High School Graduate of the Class of 1978. He worked at Smitty’s Auto Body for several years and also at Gilster Mary Lee. He enjoyed collecting and working on model trains. Jeffrey was an avid Centralia Orphans Fan. He also enjoyed watching Illini Basketball and the Green Bay Packers. He cherished the time he spent with his family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at 1:00 PM at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Per the family’s request, please wear your Centralia Orphan attire to the visitation and service. Cremation Rites will take place and a graveside service will be held Friday, January 13, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia.  Memorial donations may be made to the family and will be accepted at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home at 235 North Sycamore Street Centralia, Illinois 62801, (618)532-3523, who is honored to be of service to the Lambert Family.
