Nesta Frost, 100, of Centralia passed away Thursday, December 8, 2022, at her home.
She was born on September 11, 1922, the daughter of Arthur and Frankie (Adams) Garner in Salem. She married Veron Frost on June 28, 1944, at the First Christian Church in Salem, and he preceded her in death in April of 2004.
Survivors include her sister Ora Lee Davis of Dix; and her nieces and nephews Jerry Davis of Dix, Illinois; Harry Arthur Davis of Conyers, Georgia; Tamara Harper of Salem, Illinois, Lana Porter of Chicago, Illinois, Richard Burkett of Palm Springs, California, Steve Speake of Las Vegas, Nevada, Terry Johnson of Earlville, Illinois, and Jeff Frost of Salem, Illinois
Along with her husband, Veron Frost, Nesta was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Eva Myers, Irma Daniel, Claudine Behl, Sally Speake; brothers Marion Garner, and Woodrow Garner.
Nesta was the co-owner of Travel Electric in Centralia, with her husband, Veron for 25 years. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, where she shared her beautiful voice while singing in the choir for 70 years. Nesta had a kind smile and was warm and welcoming to everyone.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia with Pastor Brian High officiating. The interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park in rural Sandoval. Friends and relatives are welcome to a visitation time Monday, December 12, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the services on Tuesday. Memorials may be made in Nesta’s honor to the First Baptist Church or the Centralia Humane Society.
