2022 12/12 – Rosebud M. Beard

Rosebud M. Beard, 91, of Salem, Illinois, formerly of Iuka passed away December 9, 2022, at Twin Willows Nursing Home in Salem.

Born August 13, 1931, in Xenia, IL, she was the daughter of Lance and Ora Marie (Sills) Warren.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Monday in the chapel of Sutherland – Rankin Funeral Home in Salem. Visiting hours will be from 9:00 am until the service time. Wilford Musgrave will officiate. Burial will follow in the Iuka Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Donor’s choice and will be received by the Sutherland – Rankin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 97, 310 N. Rosebud united in marriage on June 16, 1950, in Iuka, with Lou “Elmo” Beard. He preceded her in death on September 12, 2001.

She worked for the Dr. M. T. Horseman family as a devoted housekeeper for many years. She especially enjoyed country music and loved to attend the Kinmundy Opera.

Survivors include her children Rev. Tim Beard and wife Stephanie of Richmond, KY, Linda Ellis of Keenes, IL, and Anne Lusch and husband Randy of Salem, IL along with grandchildren Rose Anne (Larry) Quandt, Bill (Brandi) Ellis, Chris Ellis and Jessica (Jeremy) Johnston; 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter Holly Beard, great-great-granddaughter Claire Quandt, son-in-law John Ellis, siblings Lance Warren and Artdean Warren, Esther Featherly, Geneva Elliott, Ellen Royer, and Viola Henson. Also her special friend, Fred Decker.
