Neal Canon gets top ballot spot in Salem City Council election

Salem City Council candidate Neal Canon will be at the top of the ticket for city councilman in the April municipal election.

A lottery was held Tuesday morning to determine who would be first on the ballot for the two candidates who were in line the first day petitions were accepted.

The other candidate in line, Jeff Baldridge, will appear second on the ballot.

The remaining candidates will appear in the following order; Jacob Hockett, Tracey Crouch, Craig Morton.

All five candidates will be running to fill two four-year terms on the Salem City Council.

Mayor Nic Farley will be running unopposed for the position of Mayor for a four-year term.
