Mary Maxine Braddy, 84, of Bluford, Illinois, passed away at 8:10 am on November 25, 2022, at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor.
She was born September 7, 1938, in Jefferson County, Illinois to the late Fred and Elsie (Johnson) Taaka. Mary married Russell Braddy on June 6, 1959, in East Salem Baptist Church in Mount Vernon, Illinois. They were blessed with nearly fifty-eight years of marriage before he preceded her in death on March 19, 2017.
Mary is survived by her sons, Michael Braddy of Bluford, Illinois, Mark Braddy and wife, Sherry of Bluford, Illinois; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by her son, Jeffery Braddy; brother, Dorris Edward Taaka; and lifelong friend, Bill Byars.
Mary was a member of Ten Post Oak Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
A Visitation will be held Saturday, December 3, 2022, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 pm.
