Jule Ann Martin, 89, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 3:38 pm on November 18, 2022, at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon.
She was born June 21, 1933, in Titusville, Pennsylvania to the late James Daniel and Ann (Rudasill) Murphy. Jule married Paul A. Martin on April 1, 1974, in Athens, Georgia. They were blessed with 48 years of marriage.
In addition to her beloved husband, Jule is survived by her children, Ellan Swartz of Manitou, Kentucky, James M. Swartz of Salt Lake City, Utah, Melissa Bishop and husband, Shane of Trenton, Illinois, and Paul A. Martin and wife, Kris of Pinckneyville, Illinois; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Jule was preceded in death by her brother, James Daniel Murphy, Jr. Jule was a faithful member of Trinity Episcopal Church. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Jule will be deeply missed by all who knew and adored her.
A Greeting of Family and Friends will be held Tuesday, November 22, 2022, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Trinity Episcopal Church Parrish Center. A Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 am at Trinity Episcopal Church with Reverend Bill Howard officiating. Inurnment will take place at Oconee Hill Cemetery in Athens, Georgia at a later date.
