The Salem Wildcats will host state ranked TTown for a double header today at SCHS Field.  The Shoes enter with a record of 8-1.

 

The Salem JV will be playing at home against Mattoon at the Little League Complex.


OPS Comes Back To Beat Maryville Christian

Odin/Patoka/Sandoval scored 2 runs in the fifth inning as they would take an 8-7 lead and go on to beat Maryville Christian 10-7.  Drew Haines allowed 2 earned runs and 5 hits over five innings with 4 strikeouts.  Ben Spencer pitched 2 innings of shutout relief allowing no hits.  Austin Hoffman, Easton Johnson, Kody Burks, Blaize Murray and Brady Haines added OPS hits.


Cougars Beat Carlyle

South Central beat Carlyle 7-4.  Hudson Moore allowed six hits and 2 earned runs in 7 innings.  Luke Shumate went 2-3 on the day and drove in 3 runs.  Sebastian Kruger added an RBI with 2 runs each from Moore, Aidan Hoover and Ryker Dodson.


Orphans Fall To Belleville West

Centralia couldn’t keep up in a 5-1 loss to Belleville West.  Preston Feig led the Orphans with an RBI.  Rhett Lambert had 2 hits including a double, Gabe Houser, Archie Goewey and Valon Williams also had hits.  Michael Organ took the loss going 5.1 allowing 4 earned runs.


Rams Upend Belleville East Behind Mast’s 3 RBI

Mt Vernon beat Belleville East 7-5.  Owen Burke went 3.2 innings of relief allowing 1 earned run for the win.  Ryker Perigo got this 2nd save of the year.  Nolan Mast went 3-3 with 3 RBI, Ty Pierce added 2 hits including a double and drove in 2.  Cale Maurer had 2 hits with a triple and RBI.  Bronx Hefner also drove in a run for the Rams who are 7-6 overall.


Cards Score 21 in Second To Beat Lawrenceville

Cooper Lewis had 3 hits and drove in 4 runs as North Clay dominated Lawrenceville 21-2 on the road.  Lewis big night included a home run.  The Cardinals plated 21 runs in the second inning.  Cody Zimdars homered in the inning along with Cayden Craig.  That was more than enough for senior Trevan Sidwell who gave up no hits and no runs in his inning of work.  Ben Czyzewski also pitched.  Walden finished 4-4 as North Clay improves to 12-2.
