Breese Beats Collinsville
Breese Central won their 3rd straight game with a 9-7 win over Collinsville. Katie Johnson homered in the win and Karli Thole had 2 hits and 2 RBI and scored 2 runs. Central will play at South Central today at 10am and then will play Altamont at 1 at Deep Rock Energy Field in Kinmundy.
SC Falls To Newton, Hosts Breese & Altamont Today
South Central lost to Newton 7-3. Kinlee Thompson homered and drove in 2 for the Lady Cougars. Perci Reid added a signle and RBI. Annie Ruholl and Maddie Peddicord had 2 hits each. Thompson worked 5 innings allowing 6 hits and 7 runs, Peddicord worked one inning of relief.
DeSmith Dominates In Lady Rams Win
Taylor DeSmith was dominant in the circle and at the plate as she helped the Mt Vernon Lady Rams to a 9-1 win over Highland. DeSmith struck out 14 allowing just 5 hits and 1 run over the complete game win. She also added a pair of doubles at the plate. Also with 2 hits were Paige Watson, Allie Sweeten and Danicah Tobin who knocked in 3 runs.
OPS Comes Back To Beat Maryville Christian
Odin/Patoka/Sandoval trailed by as many as 5 runs but scored a pair in the bottom of the 7th to walk off on Maryville Christian 6-5. Chelsey Haines doubled down the right field line on a 0-2 count to tie the game and then scored on an error for the game winning run. Haines and Bria Thompson had 2 hits and drove in 2 runs. Bella Pearce was the winning pitcher going the distance allowing 5 hits and struck out 6.
