The Salem Wildcats will open up their final Cahokia season today when they host Breese Central.  Salem is coming off their first win of the year Friday when they knocked off Odin/Patoka/Sandoval.  It’s a tough, busy week for the Cats as they will travel to Belleville West tomorrow, head to Breese Central on Thursday before hosting a double header with state-ranked TTown on Saturday.

 

The Mt Vernon Rams are at Marion in South 7 play.  The Orphans play at Waltonville.

 

OPS Pounds Carlyle

Odin/Patoka/Sandoval beat Carlyle 11-1, breaking the game open with 5 runs on no hits scored in the bottom of the fourth inning. Owen Caldwell was the starter for OPS allowing 2 hits and no earned runs over 4 with 8 strikeouts.  Alec Payne pitched one shutout inning of relief.  Kyan Walker and Brady Haines drove in 2 OPS runs.  Haines went 2-4.  OPS will host Grayville today.

 

McGivney Beats CORLHS

Father McGivney scored 9 runs in the 3rd inning as they rolled past Christ Our Rock 14-2.  Garrett Denton hit a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth for the Stallions. Noah Kenley, Colton Cartright and Garret Beal also had hits for the Stallions who play at home against Woodlawn today.
