This phenomenal track and field athlete is continuing his academic career at Indiana State University! Lando plans to major in Kinesiology, minor in Business, and pursue a future as a physical therapist.

As if that’s not enough, he’ll also compete in track and field as a combined events athlete, training to become a decathlete for next year’s indoor and outdoor seasons. With 10 outdoor events and multiple indoor events, busy will be an understatement.

Why Indiana State? Staying close to home and his strong support system played a big role (and maybe home-cooked meals and Mom’s laundry too). ISU offers small class sizes, a graduate program in his field, low campus crime, and a strong sense of community. It also happens to be the first Division I program that recruited him during his sophomore year—and where he competed during the 2025 indoor season.

The program stands out for its diversity and leadership. Head coach Angie Martin has earned top regional and conference honors and has shown meaningful support for her athletes. Alongside Coach Trevor Thompson, the staff made it clear from day one that Lando was already family. Add in the team’s consistent competitiveness in the MVC, and it’s easy to feel confident in this decision.

To our family, friends, and supporters—thank you. Whether you cooked meals, captured memories, donated, cheered, or encouraged him along the way, we are deeply grateful.

To the local media—your coverage matters more than you know. You’ve helped tell his story and shine a light on his journey.

To Coach Tim Koch—your impact has been invaluable. You pushed him, believed in him, and helped guide him to his first state championship. You’ll always be part of his story.

And above all, thank you to God for the guidance, protection, and strength that made this journey possible.
