Centralia Police report six people were injured early Thursday evening in a van-SUV crash in the 200 block of East 8th at an alleyway.
Police say a van driven by 66-year-old Karla Kern of Post Oak Lane in Walnut Hill was traveling northbound through the alley when she failed to yield to an eastbound SUV on 8th Street driven by 70-year-old Duane Elliott of Arbor Lane in Centralia.
Both drivers as well as two juveniles in each of the vehicles were all transported by EMS to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia. The Centralia City Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
Kern was ticketed for failure to yield.
The crash occurred at 5:30 on Thursday evening.
