One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash on Thursday at Walton Drive and West Main Street in Salem in front of the Walmart Store.
Salem Police say a vehicle driven by 68-year-old Jo Anne Elder of Rosiclare, IL pulled from Walton Drive with the intention of turning onto eastbound US 50 when she was struck in the driver’s side of her vehicle by a westbound SUV driven by 26-year-old Richard Hawickhorft of Teutopolis.
Elder was taken by United Medical Response to Salem Township Hospital for treatment of apparent minor injuries. Hawickhorft was not injured.
The crash occurred at 12:11 Thursday afternoon.
