A dinner theatre murder mystery is coming to the Centralia Cultural Society stage this month. Irritation to a Murder, directed by Rob Jackson, centers around the death of Godfry Gatewood, a multi-millionaire wealth manager under investigation for fraud. Godfry dies under mysterious circumstances while his family hosts a dinner party.
Audiences will get to follow along with the comedic mystery and try to guess the identity of Godfry’s killer. One attendee who guesses correctly before the answer is revealed will be rewarded with a Centralia Cultural Society family patron membership.
Jackson says the show has been fun to put together, and he was able to assemble just the right cast to put it on.
“I have a wonderful cast,” Jackson said. “We were going to do one show, but auditions were a little light. The show I had originally landed on needed 17 people. I ended up with 10, but it was perfect. With the five male roles and the five female roles, I had exactly what I needed and I was able to get the show cast.”
Show nights are Fridays and Saturdays of April 17th, 18th, 24th, and 25th. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. by Cygan Delaney. Doors and cash bar will open at 5 p.m. Show-only seating opens at 7 p.m., and showtime is 7:30 p.m. The estimated show length is roughly one and a half hours.
Tickets for dinner and a show can be purchased for $30 each, or $50 for two tickets by using the code “DateNight” at checkout. Show only tickets (tea and coffee included) are $15 each. Tickets are available for order online by visiting centraliaculturalsociety.org or the Centralia Cultural Society Facebook page.
