The Greater Centralia Chamber of Commerce is happy with the results of the first Regional Business Expo held at the Kaskaskia College gym on Saturday.

Chamber Executive Director Marcus Holland wraps up the day’s activities.

“The first year for the Regional Business Expo to be at Kaskaskia College was really great,” Holland said. “We attracted an audience of people who were interested to see the vendors that we had. It was maybe a little slower with a little less people, but it was quality. All of the vendors I have talked to were happy with the leads, the sales, and the types of people that we had here. I think that was good to match the services with the people who need those services. Food trucks were a great addition, they did a great job today. Next year, it’s looking at how else we can use Kaskaskia college, maybe attract new entertainment or activities of some sort to attract new audiences.”

Holland says they were able to attract some new attendees who were closer to the new event location.   The show had been held in the Fairview Shopping Center for several years before the move to the college.
