Salem 13U Wildcats baseball opened the season with a round robin sweep. In game one, they defeated the Carlyle Oilers 10-6. Zach Jones led the offense with 2 hits, 2 runs and 1 rbi. Nolan Krutsinger had a hit and scored 3 runs while Maxsen Tiemann and Izak Holsapple had 2 rbis each. Isaac Knapp got the win on the mound going 3 innings with 6 strikeouts.
In game 2, the Wildcats knocked off the Midwest Mambas 10-3. Jacob Butts had a big game with 2 hits and 5 rbis. Knapp and Holsapple each had 2 hits with Knapp scoring 2 runs and Holsapple 1 rbi. Krutsinger and Maddox Lograsso each scored twice and Brantley Brumfield had a hit and an rbi. Kaden Williams and Weston Crouse combined on the mound for a one hitter with 3 strikeouts.
The Wildcats will open the Nashville Invitational tournament next Friday at 5:00 against the hosts.
