Kaskaskia College Theatre invites the community to experience Little Women: The Broadway Musical, a stage adaptation of the classic novel by Louisa May Alcott. The production will take place in the Jane Knight Auditorium on the Kaskaskia College campus and features a talented cast of student performers bringing the story of the March sisters to life.
Audiences will see the March family portrayed by four talented actresses on the KC stage. Grace Hummel stars as Jo March, Grace Edler portrays Meg March, Ivy Johnson takes on the role of Beth March, while Olive Sue Johnson appears as Amy March.
Hummel says the cast features students and members of the community with a wide range of experience.
“We do have at least one person who has never been on stage before in a show,” Hummel said. “Years-wise in experience, we have from one year to about forty. We have quite a range of experience.”
Cherokee Ray, who plays Laurie Laurence, says this show will be an important one for the college.
“It’s our first ever musical, so it’s a pretty big deal,” Ray said. “We’re all super excited about it and have put in a lot of blood sweat and tears going into this.”
Performances will be held in the Jane Knight Auditorium on the Kaskaskia College main campus on Friday, March 27 at 7:00 p.m, Saturday, March 28 at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, March 29 at 3:00 p.m.
Admission is $12 for general admission, $10 for seniors (65+), and $5 for students ages 17 and under. Kaskaskia College students are admitted free with a valid student ID. Tickets can be purchased in person before the performance or online via www.kaskaskia.edu. The Saturday afternoon performance at 3:00 PM will be offered as a “Pay What You Can” show.
