The Centralia High School Board of Education held a bond hearing at the start of its regular meeting on Thursday for intent to sell bonds to pay for work on the sidewalk and repaving the parking lot. The board has received a bid from Rooters Asphalt for $748,500 to complete the project. A vote on accepting the bid will be taken after another required hearing is held at a special meeting on April 9.

The board approved a contract for sale of the house built by CHS building trades students. The house at 330 Melrose sold for $152,000.

The 2026-27 school calendar was approved. Next year’s calendar includes a full week of spring break at the end of March. Spring break this year is from Thursday, April 2 to Monday, April 6.

In personnel, the board accepted letters of resignation from Sam Andrews as full-time custodian and Wyatt Geist as Technology Specialist. Riley Jansen was hired as math teacher for the 2026-27 school year, and Averie Taylor was hired as girls’ assistant soccer coach for the 2025-26 school year.
