The Salem softball team is at Tully Park today hosting Effingham.
Centralia travels to Benton.
Danicah Tobin struck out 11 as Mt Vernon beat Herrin 7-2 as Tobin allowed 4 hits and 2 runs in the complete game effort. Arwyn Wilkey went 3-4 including a home run. Taylor DeSmith, Wilkey and Tobin drove in 2 runs each. Mia Porter also had 2 hits for the Lady Rams.
Leah Crompton went 4-4 including a triple as Christ Our Rock routed Maryville Christian 12-2. Payton Jett was the winning pitcher allowing 5 hits and 1 earned run over 5 innings. Katie Oelze went 3-4. Leah Kleiboeker and Jett had multi-hit games.
Mater Dei fell to 3-3 with their 6-3 loss to O’Fallon. Mater Dei outhit the Lady Panthers but had 4 errors costing them. Emma Diekemper had 2 hits with an RBI, CJ Rich had 2 hits and drove in a run. Avery Phillips and Sophie Wilhelm both hit home runs for O’Fallon. The Lady Knights host Columbia this afternoon.
Columbia came back after being down early, scoring 5 runs in the 2nd inning and beat Belleville West 8-7. Columbia improves to 3-0 on the year as they head to Mater Dei today.
