Saturday Christ Our Rock competed in the Mt. Zion Final Qualifier for our last chance to qualify for the Illinois Top Times Indoor Championships. Here are yesterday’s results.
Carson Pigg finished his indoor season by racing in the 3200 and the 1600. He PR’d in both events with a time of 10.22 and 11th place in the 3200, and a time of 4.56 in the 1600, and placed 11th out of 34 runners. Carson just missed the qualifying time, but be on the lookout for this kid, who is sure to continue his success in the upcoming outdoor season.
Landyn Mitchell competed in three events yesterday. In the long jump, his final mark was 6.93 meters (22′ 9 feet) but he jumped the furthest on his third and final jump, which was very close to the end of the pit, but scratched. The scorekeeper running this event let us measure the distance even though it wouldn’t count, and told us it would have been 7.39 meters (24′ 2.95). In the triple jump his final Mark was 46ft flat, and in the 60M hurdles, his time was 8.14. Not only did he PR in 2/3 of these events, but he also placed first in all 3 of them yesterday, and can now declare to compete in them Friday the 27th at the Illinois Top Times Indoor Championships.
