The Salem 7/8 indoor team battled hard Friday night, earning a tie and dropping a tough, close match in two exciting games.
In the loss, Kayne Rhynes and Rylan Smith each found the back of the net. Micah Rollins, Zane Wesselmann, and Holden Etheridge controlled the midfield and created several scoring chances, while Will Pittman, Keagan Williams, and Smith anchored a strong defensive line with multiple key turnovers. Caleb Dice was outstanding in goal, coming up with several incredible saves to keep it close.
In the tie, the offense came alive in the second half with goals from Zane Wesselmann, Will Pittman, and Gabby Gaston, while Kayne Rhynes added two more to lead the charge. Defensively, Baylie Purcell, Williams, Pittman, and Smith stepped up big, shutting down numerous attacks and pushing the ball forward. Caleb Dice delivered another strong performance in goal with multiple impressive stops.
