The investigation into the death of a person found dead in a Central City apartment at seven Saturday morning has been turned over to the Illinois Department of Criminal Investigation.
Central City Police Chief Jamie Ramsey says the decision was made as soon as police were called to the scene of the apartment in the 300 block of South Broadway.
An autopsy is being completed Monday to help determine the cause of death.
Any further information will be released by Illinois State Police.
