Joyce Anita (Ruddell) Fatheree, age 79 of Salem, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 23, 2026, in Salem.
Joyce was born on March 6, 1946, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of William Leslie and Joy Opal (Bunnell) Ruddell.
She is survived by her three children, Ron Fatheree and wife Shana of Centralia, Anita Weaver and husband Greg of Salem, and Brian Fatheree and wife Shari of Deer Lodge, TN; four grandchildren, Robert Weaver and wife Caela, Philip Weaver, Samantha Beck and husband Nicholas and Kylie Leffler; three great-grandchildren, Zaydn and Emily Weaver and Avery Justice.
Joyce shared a special bond with her twin sister, Janice McNicol and her husband Jim. Their lifelong connection was a source of strength and joy throughout the years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Larry Ruddell; and a sister-in-law, Vivian Ruddell.
A woman of quiet pleasures, Joyce enjoyed a good cup of coffee, word search puzzles, and found comfort in watching Hallmark movies.
Joyce was a member of Evergreen Christian Church in Salem.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 11:00 am at Martin Cemetery in Alma with Claude Howell officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family, with checks payable to Anita Weaver and received at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem.
