Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 23-year-old Drew Beer of Metcalf Road in Salem for driving under the influence and fleeing and eluding police. Beer allegedly refused to initially stop for police, but was not driving at an excessive speed. He was released on a notice to appear in court.
State Police arrested 36-year-old Blake Mcerlain of North Beech in Centralia for alleged driving under the influence. He was also released on a notice to appear in court.
25-year-old Charie Brewer of South Poplar in Centralia was arrested at the Marion County Courthouse on an outstanding felony no-bond failure-to-appear warrant.
Salem Firemen were called Friday morning to a reported camper fire in the 31 hundred block of Nation Road southwest of Salem. It was out on the department’s arrival. It apparently started in a heated garden hose attached to the camper.
Salem Firemen also handled a small grass fire in the backyard of the Whitney Arnold home at 1216 West Spruce. The fire was not threatening any buildings.
