Virginia Lee “Ginger” Craig, 88, of Bluford, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Wellbrook of Avon, Indianapolis, IN.
She was born June 27, 1937, in Herrin, IL, the daughter of Wallace and Ruby Duncan. In 1955, she married William Urban, and they later divorced. On December 27, 1962, she married Paul Craig at the First Baptist Church in Herrin, and after moving several times, they made their home in Bluford. He predeceased her on June 2, 1990.
Ginger is survived by her children: Michael Craig and wife, Angie of Indianapolis, IN, Theodore Urban, Catherine Lindner and husband, Paul of Chesapeake, VA, and Lee Craig (Neva Smith) of Bluford. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; Jennifer (David) Cooper, Joshua (Amanda) Craig, Amanda Craig, Alexandra Urban, Duncan, Nicholas and Taylor Lindner, Elizabeth (Stephen) Powell, Jacob Lindner, Zachary Craig, and Sasha Craig, and 9 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Paul Craig and her brother, William Duncan.
Ginger was a member of Donoho Prairie Christian Church, The Order of the Eastern Star, #1014 in Dix, and worked for years as a hairdresser.
A funeral service for Mrs. Craig will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with Marty Mills officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Entombment will be in the Craig mausoleum at Donoho Prairie Cemetery.
