Marion County Coroner Claude Howell says a 52-year-old Salem man found dead in his apartment died as a result of on-going medical problems.
Michael Hill of Glenwood Acres apparently had been dead since earlier in the day when he was discovered not breathing Saturday night by a friend who had gone to his home. United Medical Response was called, but it was too late to provide CPR.
Howell says Hill had open heart surgery and had other underlying medical problems.
Howell pronounced Hill dead on the scene at 9:16 Saturday night.
No autopsy is planned.
