Kaskaskia College officially opened their new gymnasium and the first games hosted on Bill Hawley Court on Saturday as both the men and women came away with wins.

The Blue Devils knocked off #2 ranked Vincennes 86-74 handing the Trailblazers just their 2nd loss of the season. KC used a 10-0 run early in the 2nd half and never gave up the lead again. Myles Liddell led KC with 24, Jerrod Mackey added 20 and Allen Myers had 17 points and 8 rebounds. Carlyle grad Hayden Huels had 2 points. Drae Vasser had 27 for VU. KC honored their sophomores AJ Tillmann, Keyon Garrett-Miller, Myers and Liddell.

The Blue Angels opened the day with a dominant 60-33 win over Spoon River. The Angels opened up the game outscoring the Snappers 27-13 in the middle two quarters. Ava Bucci led KC with 17, Katelyn Klipp added 10. Altamont grad Kylie Osteen had 9 off the bench and Benton’s Briley Barry added 8.
