An abandoned trailer in Centralia was heavily damaged by a suspicious late Friday night fire.
The fire was at 1027 South Hickory Street. A neighbor spotted the fire when flames shot out of one end of the mobile home and called 911.
Centralia City Firemen say they got a quick knockdown of the fire, but there was extensive fire damage to one end and heavy smoke damage to the rest of the home. Firemen do not believe there was anything of value in the home.
There had been no electricity or gas hooked up at the home for eight years, making the cause suspicious. At one point, the home’s front door had been broken in.
The fire call came in at 11:10 Friday night, with firemen on the scene for about an hour. All available Centralia City Firemen were called in to help fight the fire.
