Anthony Travis, 43, of Salem, passed away unexpectedly at his home on February 16th, 2026. He was born on March 1st, 1982, in Salem, Illinois to Joseph Travis and Tana Patten.

Anthony was of the Baptist faith. He had a very charismatic personality and a good heart. He would always make sure people were laughing. He enjoyed going fishing and watching sports, especially football. He was recently teaching himself how to play the harmonica and getting good at playing. He loved to talk on his phone. He loved his dad and stepfather dearly. He loved spending time with his family, with his greatest joy coming from being a father to his only child, Alissa. “When he loved someone, he loved them forever.”

He is survived by his parents: Joseph Travis and Tana Patten; his daughter: Alissa Travis; brothers: Christopher Patten, wife Jessica and Austin Reynolds, fiancé Ashley Elaine; sister: Cheryl Patten, husband Jeff Watson; special friend and mother of his daughter: Ashley Bethel; three nieces; one nephew; two great nieces; two great nephews; and several aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Williams; grandparents, Sam and Shirley Young; several aunts and uncles; and several cousins.

Cremation rites will be accorded, per family wishes. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 21st, 2026, at 1 pm at the Sutherland-Rankin Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Nathaniel Green officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 12:00 until the time of the service.
