The 1a Vandalia Wrestling Sectionals began yesterday with the finals today.
At 120 pounds, Salem wrestler Kam Rasul (28-17) dropped his opening round match to Kyler Gueercio of Lawrenceville and will face off with Issac Wood of Carterville today.
At 126 pounds, Rylan Moore (38-6) had a first round bye and then lost to Vincent Moore of Litchfield by a 7-4 decision to fall into the 3rd place bracket today against Landon Fausz of Red Bud.
At 138 pounds, Isaiah Findley (27-17) lost his opening match to Briar Kuhl of Hillsboro by Fall at 3:39 and will wrestle today against Colton Stearns of Althoff.
At 165 pounds, Killian Merrill (36-12) won his opener over Bryson Aaron of Frankfort by Fall at 3 minutes before falling in the second round to Joshua Lamour of Paris. He will wrestle Daniel Nichols of Cumberland today.
At 175 pounds, Kyler King (31-17) dropped his opening round match to Lenox Parker of Robinson by Fall at 2:51. He will wrestle Kobe Cali of Benton today in the 3rd place bracket.
