Longtime Salem Optometrist Dr. Doris Osborne is retiring.
Friday is Dr. Osborne’s last day of seeing patients for eye exams. She will be available from nine to noon and one to five on Monday for people to stop by or call the office to make arrangements to get a copy of their records. Osborne says as eye glasses and contacts arrive and when records are ready, patients will be contacted to arrange a pick up time.
Dr. Osborne wants to thank her patients for allowing her to provide their eye care. She notes many have become good friends that will be missed. On the other hand, she said she is looking forward to having more free time to spend with her precious grandchildren.
Dr. Osborne grew up in Alma, was a Kinmundy-Alma High School Graduate and after going to SIU-Carbondale attended Optometry School in Chicago before opening her practice in Salem.
Dr. Osborne says she will be seeking to sell her office in the 100 block of North Broadway in the future.
