Robert Dale “Bob” Broadhurst, 87, of Centralia, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2026. He was born on April 7, 1938, in Centralia, the son of Charles and Maude (Dick) Broadhurst. He married Carolyn Hatfield on December 21, 1957, in Centralia, and she preceded him in death on August 14, 2009.
Survivors include his children, Jonathan Broadhurst of St. Charles, MO, Connie Broadhurst of St. Louis, MO, Rebecca Pollard of The Colony, TX, and Jennifer Broadhurst of Centralia; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and extended family members and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Dorothy Rogers; his sister, Norma Nofrey; his brothers, Harold Broadhurst and Charles Broadhurst; and his son, Doug Broadhurst.
Bob was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, serving from 1956 until 1960. He retired as a postal clerk after thirty-five years. Bob was a member of the Centralia VFW Post 2055 and Centralia American Legion Post 446, a longtime member of the Centralia Moose Lodge and Central City Lions Club. He was a Boy Scout Leader who was a great mentor to his troop. Bob enjoyed being an umpire for baseball, softball, and a referee for volleyball for the City of Centralia. Bob continued to work his second career at Ace Hardware in Centralia for fifteen years.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, February 22, 2026, at the Hillcrest Memorial Park in rural Sandoval, where military rites will be accorded by Centralia VFW Post 2055 and Centralia American Legion Post 446. Memorials may be made in Bob’s honor to the American Cancer Society and will be accepted for the family at the Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia.
