A 12 by 12 foot shed was destroyed by fire in the Royal Lake neighborhood south of Odin early Monday morning.
Odin Fire Chief Greg Smith says the building was engulfed in flames upon the arrival of firefighters at 2709 Queens Avenue. The building and contents were a total loss, with firemen pushing in the remainder of the building to help extinguish the fire. The building housed furniture and clothing.
Smith believes the building is owned by a Florida woman but had been used by Ed Brimley and Julie Mult.
The cause of the fire has not been determined. Smith notes there were no utilities to the building.
The fire call came in at 12:56 Monday morning. Firemen were on the scene about a half hour.
Salem and Sandoval firemen were initially called for mutual aid but cancelled when Odin arrived on the scene and determined they could put out the fire themselves.
