The IHSA State Competitive Cheer finals are this weekend with preliminary rounds on Friday and the finals on Saturday.
Several area teams are in the finals in 1a as Breese Central won the preliminary round with Columbia 2nd, Carterville 4, Mater Dei 5, DuQuoin 7 and Pinckneyville 9 as the top 10 in the prelims advance to today’s final round. Not advancing were Vienna, Wood River and Benton.
In 2a, Triad advances as they were 4th in the preliminary round. Not moving on was Waterloo, Mascoutah, Highland and Civic Memorial.
In 3a, Edwardsville advancing finishing 3rd in the prelims.
