Salem led at Mater Dei after the opening quarter, and held scoring phenom Gavin Peppenhorst to 8 points below his average, but the Knights held off a Salem comeback late in the game to win 64-58. Payton Gullion hit a long three with under 2 minutes to go to cut the lead to 5, but Mater Dei hit enough free throws down the stretch. Ryegan Warren finished with 18 for Salem and played great first half defense on Peppenhorst. Avery Gullion finished with 10 points and 6 rebounds, Luke Boldt added 9 points on 3 made three’s off the bench.
Tonight Sandoval travels to take on Patoka/Odin.
