A 24-year-old Salem man has been sentenced to four years in prison for threatening the life of a Salem Police Officer and aggravated battery to a Marion County Correctional Officer.

Ein Julian of Oak Cedar Road entered the plea agreement in Marion County Court on Tuesday.

Salem Police came into contact with Julian after they were called to a disturbance in the emergency room of Salem Township Hospital on January 4th.  Police say Julian remained combative upon their arrival.  When he left the hospital, an officer followed where the verbal threat was made against him.   A second count from that incident, aggravated assault, was dropped as part of the plea.

While still being held in the Marion County Jail on January 20th, Julian spit on a correctional officer resulting in the aggravated battery charge.  A second count of aggravated battery for the same incident was dropped as part of the plea.

Judge Ericka Sanders ordered both four-year prison terms to be served concurrently.  When out of prison, Julian will have to spend six years on mandatory supervised release.   He was also ordered to pay a $200 probationary fee.
