The Centralia High School Board of Education agreed to begin the bidding process for health insurance, looking for possible alternatives to the Egyptian Trust which currently provides the school’s insurance. Superintendent Chuck Lane said that it is possible that the school district may not find better insurance than what it currently has with the trust, but because they have had to make extra payments to the trust in the past two years, the district will explore options in case a better deal is available.
The board approved sale of the house on Melrose Street built by CHS building trades students. The house will be listed for sale and notice of the sale will be advertised in the newspaper.
This year’s Tri-County Institute will be held at CHS on Friday, February 13 and no school will be held on that day.
A letter of retirement was accepted from Louis Crosby as full-time custodian effective July 30, 2026. The resignation of Jordyn Looman as assistant girls’ track coach was accepted effective January 13, 2026.
The board approved the employment of Aaron Shaw as annex security guard, Steve Oltman as volunteer bass fishing couch, Riley King as volunteer bass fishing coach, and Michelle Gebke as math department coordinator.
