The US Geological Service has reported a small earthquake was recorded 12 miles southeast of Taylorville early Tuesday morning.
The quake registered 3.5 and was felt as far away as Mt. Vernon and west of St. Louis. It occurred at 1:30 am.
No damage was reported.
The quake was 5.5 miles deep.
