The new large pavilion in the Patoka Village Park now has a name.  It will be named FNB Community Bank Pavilion following a $35,000 donation towards the cost of the $119,000 project.

Mayor Stacy Hood says the old pavilion had a broken up concrete floor and other issues.

“The pavilion has needed to be replaced for several years,” Hood said. “There had been some repairs done to it, but it was just beyond repair. We finally got the ball rolling for the construction to start and decided to ask the bank for a donation for naming rights. We did another fundraiser for brick donations, and the Fall Festival committee made a donation.”

The President of FNB Community Bank Steve Henne was at this week’s Patoka Village Board meeting to present the check.

“We wanted to be a part of this, and look forward to participating in the community,” Henna said. “The village has been great in working with us. We wanted to be the same for them.”

While the new pavilion is up, the memorial brick installation will take place this spring.   Demolition took place in November, with the entire pavilion and concrete flooring removed.  The new construction immediately followed.

The pavilion is used for the Patoka Fall Festival Saturday lunch and for various community and family events.
