Marion County Coroner Claude Howell says initial results from the autopsy completed on Wednesday were not conclusive on the cause of death of a two-month-old Salem girl who was pronounced dead in the emergency room of Salem Township Hospital late Tuesday morning.
Howell says the pathologist still has additional work to complete and toxicology tests still need to be completed. He reports there still are no signs of the death being suspicious.
United Medical Response paramedics and the Salem Township ER staff both tried to revive the infant before she was pronounced dead in the hospital ER.
The infant’s name has not been released.
