A 24-year-old Salem man was arrested by Salem Police early Sunday morning for threatening a public official and aggravated assault on a peace officer following an incident at Salem Township Hospital.

Salem Police say they were called to the hospital’s emergency room waiting area to a man causing a disturbance.  Ein Julian of Cedar Avenue was allegedly found argumentative.

Julian was escorted out of the hospital.  While walking down Spillway Road, he allegedly indicated he had a gun and threatened to use it on the officer.

At that point, Julian was taken into custody for threatening a public official and aggravated assault charges.  He was taken to the Marion County Jail to await a final decision on charges and a first appearance in court.

The incident was first reported to police at 2:40 Sunday morning.
