A 43-year-old Salem man has pleaded guilty to a burglary charge in Marion County Court.

James Tate was placed on two years second chance probation, ordered to abstain from drugs and alcohol with random testing.  He’ll also have to complete 30 hours of public service work.

Tate admitted to entering a building in the 500 block of North Marion on September 15th.  A residential burglary charge for entering the same building was dropped as part of the plea.

Tate will also have to pay public defender and probationary fees.
